Turtle Bird

Turtle Bird is a 2D/3D short film, created at Middlebury College, is set on a remote rock somewhere in an impressionist interpretation of Cuba. Lovers Amos and Edith transform into birds. I was the character designer and prop painter. Because the short film was a hodgepodge of 3D and 2D elements, I created 2D assets that were superimposed onto the 3D objects, some of which I painted onto directly in Blender.

A note on character design: The flower tattoo on Edith’s human arm appears on her wing as a bird as a cluster of feathers.
